St. James' seeks to always remain open to provide our Parishioners with a place to meet and worship at all times during the year. However, to balance availability and Parishioner safety, guidelines have been developed to help make appropriate decisions during inclement weather.
In case of extreme weather or unusual situations, it is the policy of St. James' to follow the lead of the Charles County Public School System regarding closings or operational schedule changes. The best source of this information can be found at www.wtopnews.com (see Weather tab, Closings & Delays) or tune to 103.5 on your FM radio dial.
For instance, if all afternoon and evening activities are cancelled for the Charles County Public School System, all afternoon and evening activities are cancelled at St. James'.
However, Parishioners are encouraged to always use their own judgment when venturing out in times of inclement weather. Plain and simple the rule is: if you don't feel safe, don't feel obligated to make the trip!
